The Neighbourhood

September 8, 2009

So today I’m meeting up with some dormies later today to sort out our Alien Registration Cards. A group of us went out last night to the local Hawaiian themed bar, which was lovely. Lots of folks from Australia, Italy…so all in all, quite the international scene!

Also went for a walk with a dormy yesterday – we basically scaled the entire main street, rooting in about the supermarkets. People love, love to cycle here. So much so, I am quite inclined to go hunt down a second-hand bike store and see what all the fuss is about. In fact, this city’s pretty cute generally. Lots of motorcycles, mopeds, some surfing shops!

Anyway on the walk yesterday a woman stopped off on her bike to tell us about the restaurant we were standing outside. We bumped into her again on the return walk and she gave us free things! Italian Dormy Whose Name I Have Unbeliveably Forgotten got a facecloth, and I, two fans. I’ve become very attached to my 100yen fan – great way of dealing with the heat!

Oh that’s right, next door is an AMAZING 100yen store. An hour or so after arriving at Plume I had to go out and get something to drink, but they have so much lovely stuff I couldn’t help myself…

Limone Iced Tea, Karel Chapek Caramel Milk Tea, Purple fan, 100yen bottled water, Peach tea, Mango Tea, Coffee, Chewy sweets & 100yen yellow nail polish - bargain!

Thanks! :D I’m getting a bit snap happy..
How to describe it…like putting coffee syrup into an iced tea drink. In fact, you could almost say it’s the Japanese frappacino. It was actually way, way too sweet for me, although the brand is pretty well known for having かわいい packaging and all that shiz: http://www.karelcapek.co.jp/
